Public Works

The Morton Grove Action Party has prioritized your ability to enjoy the aesthetics of our Village along with being conscious of our residents’ need for quality drinking water, safe roads, and outstanding public works services.

Our Public Works department is second to none!  Public Works employee’s quick response time and 24-hour availability for weather and other emergencies, along with their knowledge and skill for meeting residents’ needs, continue to reinforce their excellent reputation.

Among the many amazing things the Public Works Department does on a daily basis the most notable programs that residents appreciate and praise include:

  • Thanks to our Public Works department, Morton Grove is known throughout the northern suburbs for having the safest, cleanest streets after snow and ice storms. 1,300 tons of salt were used in 2024 to keep our streets dry.

  • In 2024, over 1,150 tons of leaves were collected from Village streets at no charge to residents. Leaf pick up is an important service that keeps leaves from clogging our sanitry sewers.

  • Resident can sign up to have Public Works plant a beautiful tree on the parkway in front of their residence by paying 50% of the wholesale cost of the tree (about $60). 220 parkways trees were planted in 2024.
