I am proud to announce my candidacy for the position of Village Clerk in the upcoming 2025 election. My life-long love for the Village of Morton Grove and dedication to public service was instilled in me by my father, former Mayor Dan Scanlon and my grandfather, former Village Clerk Leo DuMont.
I have been privileged to serve as your Village Clerk since 2017 which has equipped me to handle the responsibilities of this position effectively and to advocate for the needs of our citizens. Our goal has been to maintain the village’s excellent services while keeping taxes and fees as low as possible. We still have objectives set forth in our Strategic Plan including the redevelopment of the Metra Station, building a new Police station and Village Hall, continuing to attract restaurants and businesses and promoting recycling & sustainability in our community. This Village Board, along with our incredible staff are making significant progress in meeting our goals.
As Clerk, I will continue to focus on ensuring that all residents have access to vital information and services. I am committed to maintaining accurate records, facilitating open communication, and fostering community engagement. I have made it easier for our residents to vote by having the County designate the Civic Center as an early voting location. I have also started a campaign to train staff as deputy registrars to give residents the flexibility to register to vote at the village hall and other community events.
I respectfully ask for your support in this election. Together we are ‘Moving Morton Grove Forward’.
